Hempstead Police officers responded to a report of shots fired near the intersection of Peninsula Boulevard and Sewell Street in Hempstead at about 11 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 30, according to the Nassau County Police Department.
The victim was found laying on the ground, suffering from gunshot wounds, NCPD said.
Police said the man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities did not announce the victim's identity.
NCPD asked anyone with information about the case to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
